Every established sport has showcase events where athletes are selected based on more than just their rankings alone. These events set the tone, raise the bar, and give players something to work towards.
Our goal is simple: Elevate Paddleball as a sport.
Open tournaments have always been available to everyone and that will always remain the heart of our community. Open tournaments are where players compete, improve and achieve results.
However, the PFA Big Ball Paddleball Invitational serves a different purpose. It is a showcase event designed to:
- Highlight the remarkable athleticism and talent of our players
- Create an exciting fan experience
- Attract new spectators and future players
- Inspire the next generation of Paddleball athletes
- Set standards that players can strive to achieve
The selection process for the Invitational takes into account a combination of factors:
- Competitive results and performance
- Sportsmanship and professionalism
- Contributions to the growth of Paddleball
- Commitment to the community
- Ability to represent the sport positively
- Emerging and rising talent helping shape the future of Paddleball
Why the Invitational is important?
Because the growth of Paddleball depends on more than just tournament brackets; it relies on visibility, inspiration, and storytelling.
The Invitational is designed to showcase players in a way that attracts fans, engages youth, families and attracts future sponsors—which ultimately benefits every player and every tournament in our community.
This initiative is about creating opportunities and setting new standards.
Today we start building something new for Paddleball.
Something players will strive to be part of. Something fans will be excited to watch. Something that will contribute to the growth of our sport.
The future of Paddleball is bigger than any one event and this is a step toward that future!
In the next few weeks, we’ll start publishing the names of the players selected to participate in the Invitational.
