About Us

The PFA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation that was founded in 2014. Our mission is to provide an outlet to the youth of NYC to help keep them off the streets by giving them something productive to do with their time and to create healthy attitudes and lifestyles through engagement in the highly competitive sport of Paddleball. We also aim to build a high level of self-esteem, a sense of accomplishment and to reinforce other positive qualities and attitudes that our kids can use in their everyday lives.

Over the past three years, the PFA has partnered with the Kips Bay Boys & Girls club in implementing Paddleball Youth Clinics as part of its summer and winter programs. The clinics run for 20 weeks and are offered in the winter and summer. We have had over 50 participants in the Kips Bay youth clinics and we believe that we can replicate the model successfully in other community centers as well.

As lifelong Paddleball enthusiasts, we also hope that by engaging kids at an early stage, we can help grow the sport of Paddleball across the Tri-State area. At its peak, there were more than 500,000 active paddleball players in NYC alone. We believe that our grassroots efforts can help revive this classic NYC pastime.

Our Mission

The mission of the Paddleball Family Alliance is, first and foremost, to provide a sports outlet to the youth of New York City which will give them a productive activity that will create healthy attitudes and lifestyles, promote their physical fitness and keep them off the streets and out of trouble. Our goal is to accomplish this through engagement in the highly competitive sport of Paddleball. We also strive to grow the sport of Paddleball by promoting the game via tournaments, get-togethers, open communication, standardizing the rules, advocating and enforcing sportsmanlike behavior and publicizing the game.

Our Vision

The vision of the PFA is to return Paddleball to the era of its peak during the 1970’s Through 90’s in which the sport was widely participated in by people of all ages at the hundreds of parks, indoor facilities and beach clubs in the New York Tri-State/Florida areas. We envision accomplishing this through the youth, who will learn, love, multiply and retain Paddleball as a lifetime pastime. We will continually strive to introduce the sport of Paddleball to schools and youth programs throughout the New York Tri-State/Florida areas, and maintain and grow these programs until our vision is a reality.
